About Me

Sobriety with a Side of Sass

For most of my life, alcohol was basically my plus-one. Teen years? Party. College? Party. Met my husband Greg? Double party. We loved good food, great wine, and live music — and let’s be honest, we were really good at it. Vacations were basically brewery tours with a side of “pretend we’re cultured” wine tastings.

Then somewhere between craft beer flights and carpool duty, wine went from being fun to being… therapy in a bottle. The “Mommy Needs Wine” movement? Yeah, I was a founding member. I’d tell myself, “Just one glass to take the edge off,” and suddenly the box of cabernet was gone and I was Googling “can you get hangovers from white wine too?”

I wasn’t drinking at 10 a.m. (unless we’re counting vacations — no judgment), but I was drinking every single day. And it showed. My energy tanked, my anxiety skyrocketed, and I woke up every morning feeling like a deflated balloon.

Then one morning I caught my reflection — red-stained teeth, puffy face, dead-tired eyes — and thought, “Who even IS this chick?” That was my “enough.” I looked at myself and said, “We’re done.” And this time, I meant it.

Spoiler: quitting wasn’t some magical sunrise-and-green-juice moment. I had a full-blown panic attack, called 911, and learned the hard way that my body was like, “Excuse me, ma’am, we need a system reboot.” But I did persevere. I joined challenges, found online communities, and replaced my wine glass with a mocktail shaker.

And somewhere along the way, I realized — the fun wasn’t gone. I was just finally awake enough to enjoy it.

Greg and I started hitting concerts sober (still rocking out, still off-key), kayaking at sunrise, and realizing that the only thing we’d lost was hangovers and regret. On a trip to NYC, we swapped bar-hopping for mocktail-hunting — and boom, the idea for turning this into a business was born. We started out with Rockin’ Your Sober Life and SIPS Directory and have evolved into sharing our knowledge with others to help them on their journey!

Now, I’m on a mission to prove that sobriety doesn’t suck — it rocks. I’m flipping the script on “boring sober life” and turning it into a lifestyle worth celebrating.

Because here’s the truth: sobriety isn’t a punishment — it’s a power move.

And I’m just getting started. I hope you will join me!
